Old house New House Old House New House: 1930's 2 story bedroom reveal!!!!!

1930's 2 story bedroom reveal!!!!!

Mellissa's House

So this is where I live with my husband Matt and our  2 dogs Betty and Barkley and cat Fergie.
Our home is a 2 story character home, it was built in 1930.
It pretty much has a personality all its own! high ceilings, beautiful windows, thick baseboards and glass french doors all origional.
Sadly when we moved in the bathroom tile and entire kitchen  are also all origional and just as sadly all falling apart!
In the last two years we have done the electrical, plumbing, and insulating!
WOW!! I'm tired just writing about it!
now bit by bit we will be doing the rest of the house up!
So follow along as we update everthing! and do a few furniture and craft makeovers along the way too!

The first room that we did is the master bedroom

here is a look of how lovely it was... jealous yet??

how about now?
The plan:
What I have planned for this room is a light milk blue or green on the walls, a beautiful light fixture and a bit of paint on some of the furniture to update and brighten things! I am thinking color wise light and airy. I was inspired by these pics that I found online.

Isn't this a fabulous shade of blue?

THE REVEAL!!!

So today we finished the bedroom makeover with the help of our good friends Gabe and Karley! here are the results!!!

We chose to go with a light blue color for most of the room and a slightly darker shade of blue for the back wall behind our bed.  The whitest brightest trim we could get out hands on, and I think that every  bedroom needs to have a beautiful chandelier! The result is a room that I never want to leave!!!!!

Old hallway remodel

We also did our hallway its not completely finished yet but i wanted to post a few pics since I am so excited about how things are going so far so here is the old hallway....

This is our front entrance which leads to our front hall, despite having the glass front door I have always found this to be a dark and dingy area of the house.
So we decided to brighten this area up with a little paint and some new flooring!
